BINGO! A Way To Build Dynamic Team Culture
by Curtis Frost - Chief Executive Officer
At WMG Development, we have a terrific team, which includes a handful of remote & traveling team members. At times, continually building our team relationships can be more challenging because the traditional “coffee pot talk” may not happen. In order to help, we started Friday Morning Huddles each week. We have a different team member lead each week to really show their personalities and for all of us to get to know one another on a deeper level.
Brian, one of our Senior Project Managers, recently led one of our huddles. He, like all of us on the team, is committed to making the virtual meetings like, Friday huddle, engaging and fun. Brian devised a game of bingo to match up specific, fun facts about each of the team members to bring everyone closer together.
And… BINGO! It worked! The team had a blast and now feels more connected than ever. I assure you people were shocked to learn we had a certified scuba diver on our team! We didn’t have to go anywhere or do anything extravagant – we simply played a game of bingo. As a result, the sense of team and camaraderie is obvious and growing in our dynamic office and in our communications with each other. We’re so proud of Brian for leading a creative & fun huddle and couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome.
There is a common saying, an African proverb actually, that perfectly describes how we view WMG: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” As a team we have a lot we want to accomplish, and we are dedicated to going far together.
Sometimes, you just need to play bingo along the way! ?
